The Cobbler walk guide
A simple guide to Ben Arthur and why staying nearby makes the day easier.
Read moreLooking for the best place to stay in Arrochar? Our cottages are just a 5-minute drive from the Succoth car park for The Cobbler and around a 10-minute walk from Loch Lomond, giving you easy access to both one of Scotland’s best-known walks and the loch itself.
Most visitors stay further down Loch Lomond and face a longer drive before they even start walking. Staying here means you can get to The Cobbler quickly, start earlier, dodge some of the parking pressure and get back to the cottage without turning the day into a slog. You are also close enough to Loch Lomond for an easy walk to the shoreline when you want a slower day.

If you are climbing The Cobbler, location matters. A nearby base makes early starts easier, avoids wasted time and lets you come back for food, a shower and a relaxed evening within minutes. Add in the short walk to Loch Lomond and you have the best of both worlds: hill days when you want them, and easier lochside time when you do not.
Use Arrochar as your base for The Cobbler, the wider Arrochar Alps, Tarbet Pier, Loch Lomond and scenic short breaks that do not feel rushed from the minute you arrive.
